GEYVE’de YENİ GELENEKSEL ROTA ‘GEYVE 600’ 2009

Bir Geyve seferi daha- yeni bir Geyve, yine Geyve! Ve son sefer de olmayacak umuyorum. Evet, bu haftasonu yine benim gavur John Carney ile Geyve’de idik. Amacımız iki farklı çok ip boylu rota tırmanmaktı ama bu sefer sıcak bunu etkin olarak engelledi. Önce Murat Kandi’nin açmış olduğu VI- derecelik boltlu bir rotayı geleneksel deneyerek ısındım- ama o ne güneş, kaya ayakkabıları içinde ayaklar yandı bitti kül oldu valla! Ne o, ısınıyor muyduk? Gerçekten de çok sıcaktı…. Tek seçenek gölgede ısının kaçmasını beklemekti. Normalde ısıdan etkilenmez gözüken Kandi bile gölgeye kaçmıştı, demek kiii, ısı 39 derece civarıydı.

Neyse, öğleden sonraya kadar bağcı Arif Abi’mizin taptaze, bal gibi  incir ve üzümleri ile kayıntı yaptıktan ve gölgede semirdikten  sonra tırmanışa giriştik, zira gölgeler kulenin köşesini istila etmişti. Esas kulenin sağındaki küçük kulenin sağ köşesinde yeni bir geleneksel çok ipli rota açtık, adı da ‘Geyve 600’, 3 ip boyu ve V+, IV derecelerde, toplam 100 metre kadar uzunlukta.

Rota kulenin sağından başlıyor ve  ilk ip boyu V+ derece gibi, sığ ve ara emniyeti eksik  bir kulvar ile başlayarak  setli, bazen çürük bloklu dik yüzeylerden devam ediyor (35 m, V+). İkinci ip boyu bloklar arasından balevari tırmanışla zirve kulesinin tabanındaki sete ulaşıyor (30 m, IV+). Üçüncü ip ise harika bir tırmanış: zirve kulesinin sapasağlam, gri sol sırtını tırmanıyor- kompakt ve sağlam kayada şahane bir etap- Doğan muhtemelen burada  ‘enfes pasaj’ derdi zannederim (25 m, IV+) …. Yorum olarak; çürük yerleri de olan ama genelde zevkli, eğlenceli geleneksel  tırmanış sunan bir rota. Yine ve tabii ki; çürük bloklara azami dikkat…

Gün batımı gelirken rüzgarlı bir havada kulenin zirvesinden ovayı ve ormanları seyrettik, çok romantik- tırmanış denen olayın tümü gibi. Bekle bizi Geyve geri geleceğiz.

A NEW TRAD MULTİ PİTCH ROUTE İN GEYVE….

Yet another hot day in Geyve, and another route. This weekend we were at Geyve again with my friend ‘John The Ripper’ aka John Carney. İt was already scalding hot- like training for Wadi Rum! Anyhow we got into a bolted route that had a crack going up and away, and i led a single pitch   grade VI crack until my feet in rock boots were screaming  because of the searing heat… impossible to hang on in midday shine!

We took our time in the camp site, waiting for the heat to subside, eating meanwhile the fresh figs and grapes from the nearby fields. And then came the afternoon and we went into action. Our target was the right hand  edge of the small tower  (mercifully in shade by this time) and it yielded a new route of three pitches, around 100 metres and of IV, V+ grades UİAA. We named the route ‘Geyve 600’. The first pitch began with a shallow crack- cum- chimney with limited belay possibilities  and continued with a ledge infested steepish face (35 m, V+). The second pitch went over boulders -some of these really detached- and had a small fine crux, which ended in a wide ledge at the bottom of the summit tower (30 m, IV+). The third and final pitch took to the solid grey, exposed  left edge of the summit headwall tower, with good protection for sure (25 m, IV+). Overall, a fine route, not too hard, with good protection. Again, one needs to watch out for loose big blocks- as in any alpine outing.
